Never Put Off Until Tomorrow…

Hello everybody! This week was pretty routine. We had a lot of lessons and got to talk to a lot of new people. We actually taught a guy this week who is deaf so the ASL sisters in Washington DC helped us out virtually. One of them, Sister Emma Johnson, has family in my home town so that was cool. They interpreted for us and taught quite a bit for us. It was kind of a hard lesson for my comp and I just because we thought the signing was cool and it kind of distracted us, haha. We also had our MLC meeting this week. It’s when the leadership of the mission get together and council. It was a really great meeting and it was fun to see some of my mission friends there. We didn’t do much for pday today because my comp got a little sick so we just laid low because we didn’t want to scare anyone since ‘rona is still going around. I wanted to share a quick thought:
I was reading this talk earlier this week by Thomas S. Monson and he said this quote:

“The old adage “Never put off until tomorrow what you can do today” is doubly important when it comes to expressing our love and affection—in word and in deed—to family members and friends. Said author Harriet Beecher Stowe, “The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.”

As missionaries we always try to talk with everyone we see and throughout my mission I have tried to say and do whatever the spirit inspires me to do and to do it without debate. Sometimes it is hard and I don’t want to but I can promise you the Lord has helped me through it all and those moments have always become sweet blessings that I am very grateful for. I want to invite you to reach out to those people you have been thinking about. Don’t worry too much about the outcome but just pray that you might know what to say and just go and do and I promise you will see blessings from it. You might not ever know the impact it could have on that person. Don’t wait to do it either, there is never really a perfect time to do anything. The lord often shows his love for others through us and he can help you know what to do. I’m grateful for the people who have taken that action and showed love to me in my life. If it weren’t for them I probably wouldn’t be where I am today. Here is that talk if you want to watch/read it. It is super good and there is too much to share!
