Hello everybody! This week was transfers, can’t remember if I mentioned last week but I’m staying in Altoona. We had a really full week and it was pretty successful. Our mission found 731 new people to teach last transfer and had 21 baptisms. That is pretty good for this mission. We haven’t had numbers like that in a long time. Our Zone has been killing it! They have been carrying our weight and then some. There were some Sister missionaries from the Oregon Eugene mission that called us this week. We are going to help teach someone that they found who lived in their area, North Bend, and now lives here near Altoona. One of the sisters named Sister Durfey served in Medford and knows my Aunt and Uncle, the Bowmans! So that was pretty cool! It is kinda fun to teach someone who lived most of their life in a place I’m really familiar with and with missionaries who are in my home mission! Also we got to do some service this week and did some painting! I don’t mean to throw my companion under the bus but I have to tell you a story, heehee! So there is this Jimmy Kimmel video where he has a guy out on the street, set up a booth with a paint can and a bunch of different tools. Then he has the people walking by see if they can open a can of paint. So most of the people grab pliers and different things and try to rip it open. A few of them get it but then the guy says now put it back on, and they just laugh! Haha so this was my companion. I let him take a crack at it, and just stood there and didn’t say a word. Eventually he got it open but the lid was pretty tattered 🤣 it’s okay he is from Salt Lake. Anyways things are going good, I can’t believe I’m one of the older missionaries now!? Only 2 Elders in my zone have more time in the mission than me. It feels like I just got here sometimes and am figuring things out still, but the Lord has continued to help me! I have really gained a testimony of how the small and simple things in our lives can have a huge impact. And it usually takes some time to recognize but from the beginning until now the changes have been significant, even if it doesn’t seem like it at first. I think a major part of Gods plan is about what we become in this life with the help of his son Jesus Christ. Have you ever stopped and just thought about who we’re trying to be like? Choose to believe, act in faith, and trust in yourself and that the Lord will be there to help you! You are probably doing better than you realize. Have a great week! Read the Book of Mormon. Have fun! Love, Elder Souza
