Hi. This week was really busy! We had a ton of lessons and because we are able to have a lot in person we drove a ton. Altoona is a big area so every day was just a lesson then drive to the next. It kinda felt like pre Corona again. We are all pretty tired so Pday was very nice this week. We also had MLC which is mission leadership council. It’s a meeting for all the zone leaders and sister training leaders. With President and his assistants. It was a really cool meeting and very spiritual. We talked a lot about how to help the mission and move the work forward. It was a lot of fun to hang out with all the leadership, they are some great missionaries. For Pday today we went to the driving range!! We have a couple of golf clubs in our apartment so we went and hit a bucket of balls. It was pretty fun. I taught my companions how to swing a little bit. They have never played before so that was a good time. Also this week we had a Stake Conference and Elder Marcus B. Nash from the mission department came. He gave a super awesome talk. We get to be with him in a couple of weeks for our mission tour. The mission tour is 4 days long and he and one other general authority hold a couple of conferences for our mission. They are really insightful meetings so I’m looking forward to that soon. This week we have 3 exchanges lined up so that’s going to be exciting. We will probably be pretty tired this week too but it’s good, that’s what we do! Something another missionary said at our MLC meeting really stood out to me this week. He quickly mentioned that the Lord works through people. And that really stood out for some reason. In Preach my Gospel it says that one of the ways the Lord shows his love to his children is by sending missionaries to people. And I think that’s true in general. The Lord shows his love for others by sending us to our neighbors and friends and family. I think that is important to think about. Sometimes talking to someone or helping them or just reaching out or whatever, isn’t for us. It’s for them. To help them feel like someone cares for them. Sometimes it’s hard to want to give the effort on our part cause were tired or might think its weird or awkward. Or we might think they don’t really need us to reach out, but everyone wants to feel loved, everyone wants to feel important and like someone cares for them. You have that power to help someone and be a light to them and let them know God does love them and is aware of their circumstance. If you ever get a prompting or feeling to help someone or reach out or just say hi, do it. You never know what it will mean to them. After all wouldn’t you want someone to do the same for you if you felt a little down or lonely? The last thing I wanted to mention this week is I invite you to ponder this question. What would Jesus do if he walked into your home this week, or into your work, or church or wherever you were at? What would he do? Do you think you would feel his love for you? And when you did, what would that make you want to do?
Read the Book of Mormon. Have fun. Love, Elder Souza
